Blastin' and Castin' in the Texas Outdoors

We havea lot of good times, the road was a drug when we started way back, our wheels rolled on steady, now its forgetting the race to find an open space and leaving that city far behind We’ll be up in the morning before the sun, since anything beats working on the job and everyone knows the early worm gets the fish. The world is your oyster, let the high times carry the low, walk where the sun is shining, lay your burdens down and think to yourself that it sure feels good feeling good again.

year in review

2009 is gone, 2010 has only produced 2 pigs so far. However there are some events from the last week of 2009 that have not made the page to date. Thought I might take a moment to recap:

You remember the story of "Puss n Boots", there is a lesser known sequel

The night vision rifle had a few successful outtings

There were actually a few trips out with the Big Bad Wolf where the camera was left behind. None the less the outcome was the same, it huffed and puffed and blew their guts out

Alan got stuck

I got stuck getting Alan unstuck then got Alan unstuck once I got unstuck

Got another pig

and we learned that pigs like porn as much as they like corn.

Steve and I had a quick New Years Day outting that supplied no pork but Steve managed to save the day by taking the first bunny of 2010,and finally the first pigs of 2010.

Hope 2010 is a good year for the page!

Funny pictures.

Did you guys lose count of all the animals you killed? I was wondering what the final body count was for 2009.

A bit of confusion on that too. In talking with Alan, we realized that our tally started in mid February after last years sausage grind. So we are not running on the standard year or even a fiscal year. It seems we work off a ‘blood year’ that spans from Valentines Day to Valentines Day. So the current tally on pigs is 96 (between me, Alan, Caleb, & Steve). I think Woody has taken down another 20 or so.

My gettin' is going to suck for a couple of years.

I probably won't be gettin' 96 of anything, but I can guarantee that I will be gettin' some new life listers.

By the way, for those that don't already know, Bekki and I are moving to Africa.

If you can't beat'em, join 'em.

Wait....can I say that?
