ANOTHER GOOD BUCK FROM THE RED RIVER
Yet another great buck has been taken from the lease. This freak was arrowed saturday morning with a 52# draw custom longbow, and cedar arrow from a distance of about 18 yards. He was grunted in and shot by my wifes uncle.
He is a 14 pointer with double drop tines. Total gross boone and crockett was 145+. the inside spread was only 14" but i think he makes up for that with character. He weighed 160 on the hoof and dressed at just under 120lbs. the coolest part of this buck was not that he was shot with a bow nor that he has these crazy horns but that he was only 3 hooved. One of his real hooves was completely nubbed and he seemed to be walking on it just fine with only a slight limp.

That is a freaky deer. Do you think its foot was a birth defect or did it get bitten by a coyote or caught in a trap?
I THINK IT WAS A BIRTH DEFECT FROM THE EFFICIENT WAY THE DEER SEEMED TO DEAL WITH IT, BUT WHO KNOWS
I don't typically have any type of buck fever anymore but I think something that freaky would get my mind in a knot. I am especially impressed that the shooter used a bow, what focus.
If the deer lost a foot as a fawn and then lived for years after it would probably have pretty good locomotion by the time it could grow a crown like that.
HE SAID THAT THIS BUCK MOVED VERY WELL AND WAS ONE OF THE FASTEST DEER HED EVER SEEN AFTER BEING SHOT
HES 3 1/2 TO 4 1/2 BUT WE WONT BE ABLE TO HAVE A LOOK AT THE JAW TILL THE TAXIDERMIST GETS IT OUT, AND HES ALREADY BEEN DELEGGIFIED
