Blastin' and Castin' in the Texas Outdoors

We havea lot of good times, the road was a drug when we started way back, our wheels rolled on steady, now its forgetting the race to find an open space and leaving that city far behind We’ll be up in the morning before the sun, since anything beats working on the job and everyone knows the early worm gets the fish. The world is your oyster, let the high times carry the low, walk where the sun is shining, lay your burdens down and think to yourself that it sure feels good feeling good again.

Got a Raccoon Problem

Chris and I have been feeding some coons in our pig trap for a while, since they kept tripping the trapdoor we decided to punish them.

Chris placed a 5 gallon bucket on it's side and laid foot trap on the ground in front of the opening and covered it with some grass. We threw a handful of corn into the bottom of the bucket and viola!

this setup caught two coons on two consecutive nights, paired with the coon and skunk we caught in a snare on the same nights, I predict a huge drop in non-pig activity in the trap.

yea, if the carnage and coon pieces dont keep the little buggers out, I will just have to assume they are the most deranged critters around. I know if I were a coon and found that kinda mess of my bretheren I'd skirt the area reguardless of what delicious corn was in the area.
