Blastin' and Castin' in the Texas Outdoors

We havea lot of good times, the road was a drug when we started way back, our wheels rolled on steady, now its forgetting the race to find an open space and leaving that city far behind We’ll be up in the morning before the sun, since anything beats working on the job and everyone knows the early worm gets the fish. The world is your oyster, let the high times carry the low, walk where the sun is shining, lay your burdens down and think to yourself that it sure feels good feeling good again.

Stingray story

I heard some news today saying that 'the crocodile hunter' Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray stabbing him in the chest.

Made me think about some of the giant rays we have hauled out of the gulf.

That was really bad luck. I was wondering if he tried to grab it or if he was just swimming above it.

I wish the big ray we landed last year still had his tail. That stinger would have made a good souvenir. I bet it would have been as big as the ones they were showing on the news.

The way I heard it he was diving, swimming above a large stingray on a reef and 'inadvertantly boxed it in'
