Blastin' and Castin' in the Texas Outdoors

We havea lot of good times, the road was a drug when we started way back, our wheels rolled on steady, now its forgetting the race to find an open space and leaving that city far behind We’ll be up in the morning before the sun, since anything beats working on the job and everyone knows the early worm gets the fish. The world is your oyster, let the high times carry the low, walk where the sun is shining, lay your burdens down and think to yourself that it sure feels good feeling good again.

Sargent Recon

I did some reconnaissance at Sargent on sunday. I don't have much to report due to the 15-20 knot winds that were blasting the beach. Traffic was light and few people were even attempting to fish. Some people set up in the cut but nobody stayed long due to the lack of fish. The tide was ripping in and the wind was from the east. There was a small amount of weed but it is not the same stuff that plagued us last year.

I attempted to paddle my kayak but it was very difficult. I will bring it this weekend and hope for less wind.

The dirt road along the intercoastal was dry but there is water in some of the ruts. You still need to drive slow and pick your way around the bad sections but you can do it in 2wd. The beach was covered in wood.

The tides look good for this weekend. If the wind lay's down then we might actually catch fish.

I forgot to mention that there was lots of bait. The bait really moved in as the tide came back in. Chris, I hope this helps you to sleep at night.
