Blastin' and Castin' in the Texas Outdoors

We havea lot of good times, the road was a drug when we started way back, our wheels rolled on steady, now its forgetting the race to find an open space and leaving that city far behind We’ll be up in the morning before the sun, since anything beats working on the job and everyone knows the early worm gets the fish. The world is your oyster, let the high times carry the low, walk where the sun is shining, lay your burdens down and think to yourself that it sure feels good feeling good again.

Ocean Beach

I caught this striper last week. It was 33" and weighed about 15lbs.

I caught it on my new surf rod - a 9' Lamiglas rod with abu garcia revo. This combo is really sweet for throwing 1 - 1.5 oz lures. The fish ate a 1.5oz kastmaster spoon.

Sweet!! More strippers.

What else did you catch? Surely you didn't fish all day for only one fish.

I like the sport, but I think I would have given up way to early and started hitting the bottle.

Hey Alan,

The sweet part about this catch is that I only fished for 1 hour. I spent more time walking the beach looking for a place to fish than I did casting. There were ChiComs & VC all over the place. Hard to find a spot between them.

This was one of those rare occasions when I actually outfished charlie. I didn't see anyone with a fish on the beach.

brian,

Nice catch. Did you change phone numbers or are you just ignoring my phone calls

I like that you outfished the competition
