Blastin' and Castin' in the Texas Outdoors

We havea lot of good times, the road was a drug when we started way back, our wheels rolled on steady, now its forgetting the race to find an open space and leaving that city far behind We’ll be up in the morning before the sun, since anything beats working on the job and everyone knows the early worm gets the fish. The world is your oyster, let the high times carry the low, walk where the sun is shining, lay your burdens down and think to yourself that it sure feels good feeling good again.

Wanna go line tangling?

Last time we took a trip on this line tangler out of Port A. we had a great time. Wanna try it again in July? If we go on a Weekday it won't likely be crowded. If we take the Wharf cat instead of the Scat Cat we don't have to use electric reels. Some Dorado or KingFish would be lots of fun to eat.

Fishing Report
June 24, 2004

Kent Stogsdill at Fisherman’s Wharf reports anglers are catching lots of “beautiful, huge” dorado (mahi mahi). Some have weighed between 40 and 45 pounds. “It’s time to get out the barbecue grill and enjoy mahi mahi,” he said.
Over the week, Stogsdill said he has seen flags denoting caught and released blue marlin on five boats.
The party boats are returning with catches of red snapper, amberjack, grouper and dorado. Bay boats are coming back with the usual trout and redfish.
The Jetty Boat keeps making the trip to the north jetty and returning with some pretty trout, Stogsdill said.

The line tangler was pretty fun the day we went. I think there are line tanglers that leave out of freeport that do pretty well also. That would save money on hotel room and gas.

Pumpkin is involved this time again with the Corpus idea, I believe he would provide lodging.

Furthermore, I was thinking about wade/surf fishing in that area just for something a little different one day then line tangling the next

Does pumpkin have his own place or does he live at home still?

It would be cool to drive a little farther south and spend a day or night on Padre Island National Seashore.
